For the Everett family—the Nebraska family behind Runza—preserving their story became urgent once they realized how much of it lived only in memory.

"I think it hit us if we waited another 10 years, some of our family stories would go away forever," says Ashley Ficken, 4th-generation family member. "It's the little memories that our company records don't have."

With that realization, Ashley and her mother, Dawn Everett Amend (3rd generation), sought out Melissa Parks and Dave Goetz of Journey Sixty6 to begin documenting four generations of Runza's history.
